Locations Around Town
Cliff Cave
Cliff Cave assists in navigating between the levels on Route 47; going up leads to Route 48 while going down leads to the tall grass and Embedded Tower.
Embedded Tower
The Embedded Tower was an enormously tall tower built by people who came from the Hoenn Region. Its peak was said to touch the sky. However, part of it was embedded into the cliffs of Route 47 and also ran deep underground into the ocean, in that way connecting the land, the sea, and the sky. West from the entrance to Embedded Tower is the westernmost accessible point in Johto, a small spit of beach at the bottom of climbable rocks.
Route 41
Route 41 is a short water route spanning the distance between Johto's Whirl Islands and Cianwood City.

Route 47 and 48 are routes in western Johto, on the same landmass as Cianwood City. They connect Cianwood with the Johto Safari Zone on their western terminus.
Whirl Islands
The Whirl Islands make up a small island chain located between mainland Johto and Cianwood City, on Route 41. Named after the dangerous whirlpools that surround them, some parts of the Whirl Islands are mysterious and largely inaccessible. Children in Olivine City are told that bad kids are sent to the islands. Rumors circulate that families of Lugia reside there.

The Johto Safari Zone is a special Pokémon preserve located at the end of Route 48 where Trainers can capture certain types of Pokémon. It is owned by Baoba, the former owner of the Kanto Safari Zone.
