Umbreon [Male] — "I will make sure that you always keep improving, and I will improve with you at my side." ~ Promise to Umbreon
Umbreon is Nicholas' most loyal companion. It was first recieved as an alternate-colored eevee, who evolved one night, in Nicholas' arms. His goal is to travel with Nicholas, and overcome any path that lays before Nicholas, and himself.
Ability: Synchronize
Sandslash [Male] — "I will train you to topple larger foes, and stand stronger among them." ~ Promise to Sandslash
Sandslash was the first Pokémon Nicholas caught. It was caught in Wayward Cave, and was trained vigorously for years with Nicholas. It's goal is to overcome even the strongest opponents.
Ability: Sand Rush
Breloom [Male] — "I will make sure that you can stand taller than anyone, in victory." ~ Promise to Breloom
Breloom was the third Pokémon Nicholas caught. It was caught in the Great Marsh after losing a fight with another of it's kind. It's goal is to stand tall over all those who oppose it, and Nicholas.
Ability: Poison Heal
Swellow [Female] — "I will make sure you can endure anything, and come out stronger." ~ Promise to Swellow
Swellow is the fourth Pokémon Nicholas has caught. It was caught at route 213, after trying to steal food from Nicholas, due to starvation. It's goal is to endure anything anyone can put it through, and come out on top.
Ability: Guts
Riolu [Male] — "I swear he will be able to see more than what you ever could with eyes..." ~ Promise to Riolu
Nicholas met Riolu after having been attacked by it's father lucario, and ended up saving it from a dangerous cave-in in the Iron Island. Nicholas had rescued it's family, and his own Pokémon with the company of this little guy, and Nicholas insists that this Riolu has a strong potential inside of him... I should also mention, he's blind.
Ability: Inner Focus

Nicholas is a formerly rich kid, but who doesn't take much from materialistic things. Although, he still likes wearing elaboratly designed casual wear, such as an Umbreon themed jacket, and long dark pants. His hair is almost a golden blond, and some hair tends to fall just over his eyes. His skin is tan from being outside in his travels, and he has, almost clear, blue eyes.
Usually, he has a stern atmosphere around him, almost always serious, and seems to start straight ahead at all times, only seldom looking at things that peek his interest. When other people are around him, they tend to see him as self-absorbed, and cocky. He usually gives a bad first impression to other people who are just as prideful, since he gives of a strong vibe of superiority.

Nicholas isn't afraid to take advantage of things. He sees no problem with it what-so-ever, which poisoned some of his other traits, to where people just think he is taking advantage of an opportunity, rather than actually having a good reason for it. He is ALL about self-improvement, he believes everything can, and should reach their full potentials, and he recognizes that nothing has yet to do so, including himself. He looks down upon those that thing they can rise above him, because of his idea that those who can rise above him are still not even close to his potential.
He does indeed mean to keep his word to his Pokémon, and intends to see them overcome many challenges. Due to his ideology of taking on the biggest thing around, he would tend to get in over his head with some situations. He would pass off his defeat as a need for more training, so that he can make sure to overcome that challenge in the future. If he ever loses to you, he will hold it to himself to make sure that you see him again, and end in defeat.

Young History: His family was a rather wealthy one, living right in the heart of Jublife City. Nicholas wasn't usually asking for much materialism despite his family's moderate wealth, but when he has his mind set on something... he gets it. One day, at around age six, he had his mind set on Eevee, because he learned about it's many evolution forms. He wanted to test his idea of using multiple stones, even though his teacher informed him it wouldn't work. His father always was happy to try and get the best for his son, so it took a while, and when Nicholas was seven, he presented him with an Eevee purchased from another man (rich man in the mansion on Route 212) who had a unique, white colored fur around it's neck, and tip of tail rather than the usual cream color. Nicholas was still upset about how long it took for his father to bring him this gift, but he still raised the Eevee with utmost interest. He planned on trying the stone method when the Eevee reached proper experience.
Early History: Nicholas now had developed a full trusting bond with his Eevee, and no longer planned on using it as a tool for his test. Instead he developed a desire to travel the world, and become a part of something. He gained this desire at around 13, when he realized his parents hadn't planned on him going anywhere in his life. That made him unhappy, and he started developing a strong rebellious feeling towards his parents. Eventually at age 15, his parents had gotten into a car accident. His mother was killed, and his father was hospitalized. Nicholas decieded then that he would rely on himself, and left his home. That same night he left, he was camping out in the dark, curling up to Eevee... who began a small glow. Nicholas watched in wonder as his Eevee turned into the white-ringed and blue-eyed Umbreon, while still sound asleep in his arms.
Close History: Nicholas first ventured out of Jublife City, and headed straight towards Oreburgh. While he was around Oreburgh, he stayed there for a while, and caught a Sandslash. It was then that he decieded to stay in Oreburgh for a while, so that Sandslash could train against his larger opponents, like Onix, and even some Steelix in the mines. He had at one time found a fossile, which he sold to Roark, the City's gym leader. Nicholas made sure to fetch a "fair" price. Eventually, when Sandslash had been trained up, and was almost just as close to Nicholas as his Umbreon was, he left Orebourgh at age 17, and headed into Mt. Coronet.
Recent History: In Mt. Coronet, he ended up getting lost, but eventually found his way out. He made sure to remember that place, since it seemed like a great training area. Once outside Mt. Coronet, he completely bypassed Hearthhome City. He didn't want to bother being around there, since it reminded him so much of home... not in a good way. He took his path down route 212, where he ironically passed by the Poke-Mansion. Umbreon seemed to have a hazy feeling towards the place... maybe it remembered something of it's past there... Getting through the marsh was a bit less of a hassle for Nicholas, as he had Sandslash push through the muck first, which it enjoyed since it is a ground type. Once they were in Pastoria City, Nicholas bought a new set of clothes anyway. Nicholas had heard about the Great Marsh having an unusual selection of Pokémon. He also felt it would help him test his own abilities (or feed his own ego) to see how he'd fare at catching a Pokémon without help from his own. He entered the Great Marsh with high hopes, but still turned down many of the Pokémon he had seen. He came across a few Breloom, two of which were in the middle of a tussle. He watched as one of them put up a good fight, but ultimately lost the fight, and was left by the group defeated. Nicholas tossed a Safari Ball at it, and captured it. Some would argue that he only did it because it was weakened for him. In Nicholas' head, and as a promise to his Breloom, he would train it so it would stand tall, and triumphant over it's rivals. He decieded that there would be more training opportunities if he remained traveling, so he continued on with his journey. Once he was outside Pastoria City, he was attacked by a Swellow. The Swellow tried swooping down, and grabbing items away from Nicholas. Furious, Nicholas sent out his new Breloom, and had it use spore on the Sellow. The swellow crashed into the ground completely out cold. Nicholas only then realized it was very thin... He didn't exactly know the anatomy of a swellow, but he was sure this one was starving. While the swellow was asleep, he pressed a Poké Ball against it's wing, and captured the Swellow, who was in no shape to resist capture. Again, some people would say he took advantage of it's situation to take the swellow, but in Nicholas' mind he decieded he could help the swellow, and train it to endure anything. Nicholas turned 18 the next day, where he celebrated by treating his Pokémon and himself to the seven-stared restaurant, where he payed his bill through a somewhat easy battle with the owner.
Most Recent History, and Whispered Effects: Next, Nicholas journied through Route 222 to Sunnyshore City. It was here, where he stopped to stay for a bit, and figure out what he wanted to do. While he was residing in Sunnyshore, the effects of the Whispered struck. Due to the psychological struggles, Nicholas was hardly seen outside his residence for about a year. Eventually, he surpased the worst of the Whispered's early effects, and regained his composure... although the Whispered has somewhat changed him. He steadily grew more knowledgeable with technology, Specifically vehicular technology. Since he had no idea what the cause of it was, he tried to ignore it, and continue on as if things were normal, doing his best at controlling the effects. He continued training his Pokémon, and eventually accepting this new "gift" and began studying the things that just... came to him, increasing his understanding of technology, until this day, where he is 20 years old.

└-Psychic, aura or astral abilities.
Whispered: Nicholas was born with a special psychic phenomena. This ability aids Nicholas with technological ideas, specializing in vehicular technology. It can provide a short glimpse into the future, but only with strong concentration. This ability also allows him to resonate with other Whispered. Due to it's psychological effects, however, it can push one's mind into madness, and in many cases death.│

Nicholas payed the fee for entering the Great Marsh. He recieved the 20 balls, and a bag of bait, and stepped out into the mucky, and moist ground.
"Ugh... I'm going to need new shoes."
He walked along, startling some Pokémon, and causing them to jump up and flee. He saw a quagsire sitting at the edge of a pool, just stairing at it's reflection. 'I hope all the Pokémon here aren't as stupid looking as that is right there.' Nicholas thinks to himself. He hears a loud splash behind him... the sound of the quagsire falling into the pool, which Nicholas rolled his eyes at, and continued on.
"Breloom!" he heard a Pokémon's call.
It sounded angry, and it was followed by various other calls of the same kind. He slowed down a bit more, and crept more quietly up to a small clearing in the brush. A tall breloom was standing over another breloom. They were staring each other down, both seemed pissed. Other breloom in the area stood by and watched the two fight. The larger breloom won the fight, and together all the breloom left it laying in the dirt. The breloom had a defeated look in it's eyes. Nicholas stepped right on out of the bushes, and promptly bounced a ball off it's mushroom shaped head. Once the ball pulled in the weakened Breloom, it closed, and sealed shut. Nicholas had a new Pokémon to keep, as well as another promise. He would make sure that Breloom could stand taller than anyone.
