Omega [Male Jolteon]: Omega was given as an Eevee to Wolf by his father before he left to journey across Kanto. Omega is loyal to his trainer and determined to win any fight he is sent into. The Lightning Pokémon's speed and ability to think for himself during a fight makes him a skilled combatant and star of the team. Wolf is proud of Omega's skill in battle but usually sends him out last, giving the rest of the team a chance to fight.

Ability: Volt Absorb
Moves: Thunder Fang, Double Kick, Thunderbolt, Discharge, Agility, Thunder Wave, Shadow Ball, Double Team, Swagger, Protect

Image
Calamari [Male Slowbro]: Calamari was caught as a Slowpoke on Route 6 by Wolf during his journey across Kanto. Despite being powerful thanks to his psychic attacks, Calamari is unable to think for himself due to being absent-minded, even going far to forget that he is in a fight. As such, the Hermit Crab Pokémon relies on his trainer for commands. Despite this fault, Wolf is impressed with Calamari and uses him often in battle.

Ability: Oblivious
Moves: Psychic, Confuse, Zen Headbutt, Rain Dance, Heal Pulse, Yawn, Dream Eater, Water Pulse, Ice Beam, Psyshock

Mandrake [Male Victreebel]: Mandrake was caught as a Bellsprout on Route 7 by Wolf during his journey across Kanto. Mandrake is clever and uses his intelligence to come up with different strategies to use in the course of battle. The Flycatcher Pokémon is cold and uncaring in battle, doing whatever it takes to defeat his opponent. Despite his could nature, Wolf sees the good in Mandrake and uses him when brute strength cannot defeat his opponent.

Ability: Chlorophyll
Movies: Sunny Day, Solar Beam, Stockpile, Swallow, Spit Up, Toxic, Venoshock, Sleep Powder, Vine Whip, Leaf Storm

Mercury [Male Rapidash]: Mercury was caught as a Ponyta on Route 16 by Wolf during his journey across Kanto. Mercury is graceful in battle and is able to surpass Jolteon in terms of speed while making use of powerful attacks. Yet, the Fire Horse Pokémon lacks a solid defense, unable to take too many hits from his opponent. Wolf tends to use Mercury in hopes that his speed and power will be enough to overwhelm the opposing Pokémon.

Ability: Flame Body
Moves: Flame Wheel, Agility, Flame Charge, Stomp, Megahorn, Wild Charge, Fire Blast, Sunny Day, Will-O-Wisp, Quick Attack

Image
Minerva [Female Kangaskhan]: Minerva was caught in the Safari Zone by Wolf during his journey across Kanto. Minerva is very protective of both her trainer and the rest of her team, seeing them as her family. The Parent Pokémon is very durable in battle and often pushes herself past her limits to keep up the fight. Wolf is glad to have Minerva as a guardian for his team and uses her for Mega Evolution the most often.

Ability: Scrappy
Moves: Double Hit, Mega Punch, Endure, Sucker Punch, Reversal, Dizzy Punch, Protect, Earthquake, Brick Break, Rock Tomb

Image
Ragnarok [Male Aerodactyl]: Ragnarok was revived from an Old Amber on Cinnabar Island before being captured by Wolf. Although initially disobedient, Ragnarok has grown fond of his trainer and follows his commands in battle. The Fossil Pokémon is fierce in a fight and never holds back against his opponent. Wolf tends to use Ragnarok as the first Pokémon in a fight as a way to intimidate his opponents.

Ability: Rock Head
Moves: Iron Head, Ice Fang, Hyper Beam, Fire Fang, Sky Drop, Thunder Fang, Supersonic, Roost, Flamethrower, Aerial Ace

Wolf stands at five foot nine and weighs around 152 pounds with a fit build. He has short graying black hair that covers the back of his neck and forehead. His short beard and long sideburns gave him an animal-like look. His cold and calculating green eyes are in direct contrast with the kind and gentle expressions he has. His Key Stone is hidden within a talisman wrapped around his neck, which has two wolf fangs engraved on it.

For teaching, Wolf tends to wear formal clothing. He wears a long white collared shirt with a black tie and slacks, along with a pair of dress shoes. When he is not teaching, he wears more informal clothes for everyday use and traveling. This outfit consists of a white long-sleeved shirt, a pair of blue jeans, and black running shoes. His talisman can be seen when he is wearing either outfits.

Wolf is a critical thinker, analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of both his opponent and himself during a battle. Although he is a bit prideful when it comes to his Pokémon, he does understand that there are better trainers and teams out there than him.  He tends to remain calm and patient, even when the situation starts to go downhill for him. He sees it as his duty to teach the youth about Pokémon in the hopes that one of them would follow their ambitions like he did in the past.

Wolf believes that a trainer is only great as their Pokémon is and trains his team constantly, even if he no longer travels across regions. Although his teaching style may be strict, it helps serve to emphasize his point. He is more on the formal side and will treat his peers and students with respect. He encourages his students to follow their dreams and to overcome any obstacles in their way. Overall, he has chosen to step down as a trainer to teach the next generation.

Wolf was born in Celadon City to Stanley and Marlin Ledger. His father worked as a local police officer while his mother served as a gym trainer in the gym at Celadon City. They raised their son together and encouraged him when he had the idea of challenging the gyms across Kanto and defeating the Champion. To this end, they gave him an Eevee, which was a result of breeding from Stanley's Espeon and Marlin's Leafeon, on his eighth birthday. Shortly after turning 10, Wolf finally left to travel around Kanto.

Yet, Wolf decided to take his time when it came to challenging the gyms, figuring he had time. He spent the next two years exploring Kanto, watching other trainers' Pokémon battles. Analyzing their teams, the young trainer took noticed that the best trainers tend to have a balanced and experienced Pokémon team. With this in mind, Wolf set out to catch more Pokémon. With Omega, he caught a Slowpoke, Bellsprout, and Ponyta. In the Safari Zone, he was able to catch a Kangaskhan. Finally, thanks to the help of scientists on Cinnabar Island, he was able to catch an Aerodactyl to complete his team.

Now at the age of 13, Wolf returned to Celadon City, still taking his time with his goal. He trained his team, wanting them in peak condition before he challenged the gyms. For his training, he pushed his team past their limits, intending for them to become better than the rest of their kind. It took two years for Wolf to decide to leave Celadon City once more, returning to his travels.

Yet, again, Wolf intended to take his time, ignoring the gyms once more. Turning 15, Wolf started to challenge other trainers to battle, wanting to see what his Pokémon were now capable of. Thanks to his training, his Pokémon were now skilled battlers, earning many wins for the growing trainer. He continued to battle and train with his Pokémon, slowly gaining a following of trainers who were impressed with his skill. They called him the Dire Wolf for his fierceness in battle.

Turning 17, Wolf returned to Celadon City again, this time to challenge the gym. He defeated the gym leader and claimed the Rainbow Badge, officially starting his quest to take on the league. Setting out to travel around Kanto for the final time, Wolf challenged the gyms one by one, and soon held all eight badges. Now, he believed himself ready to challenge the Elite Four and the Champion.

Arriving at the Indigo Plateau, Wolf challenged the Elite Four, ready to finally achieve his dream of becoming a champion. Although the four trainers proved to be a challenge, he was able to defeat them all and finally faced the Champion. The battle proved to be a struggle for Wolf and his team, which was exhausted from fighting the Elite Four. The battle came to a close as the Champion won with two Pokémon left standing. Wolf believed he needed to train his Pokémon harder and only came up with one idea on how to do so.

Shortly after he turned 18 and packing the necessary supplies, Wolf set out for Mt. Silver, using it as his training ground. The wild Pokémon there proved to be excellent opponents for his team, who became much more skilled as they trained. Wolf did not leave Mt. Silver for over a year, using potions and revives to keep his Pokémon in fighting shape while tending to himself with supplies.

Now 19, Wolf finally returned from Mt. Silver, and again, challenged the Elite Four. Thanks to his training, they were defeated with ease, and the veteran trainer soon found himself facing the Champion again. Their battle was long and fierce with it eventually coming down to their final Pokémon. Omega fought the hardest her could, yet in the end, he was defeated once more. Again, Wolf lost to the Champion.

Originally, he planned on returning to Mt. Silver again to train, wanting to beat the Champion. However, he soon realized that after a decade of battling and training, his Pokémon were exhausted. Training them harder would be useless if they lacked the energy to fight. With this in mind, he decided to retire from being the Dire Wolf and moved onto with the next stage of his life.

Turning 20, Wolf enrolled at a university in Kalos, intending to get a degree in education, deciding that teaching would be his new passion. He spent the next four years in Lumiose, studying to become a teacher. In his free time, he again trained his Pokémon, although not as hard as before. He intended to keep his Pokémon at their current skill so that they did not become rusty during their break and occasionally accepted challenges from trainers who face the Dire Wolf.

When Wolf turned 23, he learned of Mega Evolution, and decided to unlock it for himself. Traveling around Kalos for a brief period, he was able to claim a Key Stone and paid to have it placed within a talisman that he continues to wear today. Returning to Lumiose City, he bought three Mega Stones from the Stone Emporium, giving Calamari, Minerva, and Ragnarok the ability to Mega Evolve.

Wolf earned his degree in education when he turned 24 and looked for a job. Eventually, he was hired to teach at the Trainer's School in Jubilife City given his experience as a trainer. There, he taught young and aspiring trainers on topics such as type advantages, moves, and rules to official battles. Yet, he considers his most important lessons to be on how to train Pokémon, declaring that training is fundamental to a trainer's success.

The years went by as Wolf's passion for teaching grew. He still found the time to train his team, wanting to keep them in condition at least. Mostly, it could be said that this chapter of Wolf's life was uneventful with the only battles he took part in being against trainers wishing to face against the Dire Wolf. He both won and lost these matches, yet the challengers stopped coming shortly after he turned 30. Still, the veteran trainer did not care about that, having moved on from being a trainer. Wolf only hoped that one day, someone would reach the heights he dreamed of thanks to his lessons.

"You're all dismissed," Wolf announced after the bell rang. "Don't forget to turn in your assignment."

The students made their way out of the classroom, handing their assignment regarding regulations and rules on Pokémon League battles to their teacher. Wolf leaned back on his chair as the door closed, reaching for a red pen on his desk. He looked over the first assignment, marking a few answers as incorrect, before continuing on with the rest of the assignments. Since the school day was now over, he took his time, thinking to himself as he started to grade.

Looking back on his days as a trainer, Wolf was a little surprised where he ended up, but he was not complaining. He still found time to train Omega and the rest of his Pokémon, keeping them in shape. They may be past their prime, but the veteran trainer was certain that if another challenger comes along, they would be ready. Until then, he would continue molding young children to become amazing trainers.

Wolf set the last graded assignment down on the neatly stacked pile before standing up. He stretched up, read to leave the school for today. He already planned out his lesson for tomorrow and had a little free time saved for training. Making his way to the door, he opened it, flicked the nearby light switch off before making his way out of the classroom.
