Pokédex Entry: A rowdy trickster, they have superb hearing and it is said they can hear the heartbeat of a Buneary or Pikachu a number of feet underground.

About as tall as their Kalos cousins, Braixen, Keenine shift from being quadrupeds like their pre-evolved form to being bipedal. Orange in color still, their bellies adopt the same cream color as a Welpyre's face. Keenine's tail also fills out, becoming much bushier in comparison to Welpyre's brush-like tail. It also sports a red band across its base. An unruly lock of hair juts out from Keenine's forehead, giving them a unique look, while their ears become even larger and more prominent. Lastly, whiskers sprout from its cheeks and crook at the end in a zig-zag, suggesting that they might have been singed by flames.

Etymology: Keenine is a combination of the words keen and canine.
Gender Differences: None.
Special Abilities: Superb hearing, it is said they can hear the heartbeat of a Buneary or Pikachu a number of feet underground. They also possess very fine control over the flames they use as their attacks, often making small globes of fire people liken to spirits that bob around in the night. Lastly, they have amazing physical endurance, keeping pace with moderately fast Pokémon easily.
Behavior: Even rowdier than Welpyre, Keenine form fierce gang-like groups in their homelands, fighting fiercely for territory with one another. Some, however, are known to be solitary individuals. They are defensive of Welpyre, however, and all Welpyre, no matter whom they were bore from, are defended equally. Keenine also have a reverence for their evolved forms, often looking up to Shisapien... but they are not above challenging their evolved brethren in an attempt to learn a thing or two while getting walloped. Concerning humans, Keenine are also not opposed to attacking wandering Trainers in hopes of a good fight.
Habitat: Deep forests, typically in the eastern hemisphere. They are likened to the kitsune myths in regions like Kanto and Johto, where they are most commonly found. Overall, they prefer forest and mountain habitats.
Diet: Their diet is largely made up of invertebrates such as insects, and small vertebrates such as reptiles and birds, and also can include eggs and plants. Many species are generalist predators. Keenine cache excess food, burying it for later consumption, usually under leaves, snow, or soil.
