Pokédex Entry: A bright, tropical fish that lives in rivers, Neonite are one of the most common shoaling fish to live in home aquariums.

A small tropical fish, Neonite is barely of any consequence in the size department, barely under two feet long. These metal bright Pokémon have large eyes the size of tea saucers and bright patches of scales that emit neon light that run down the sides of their body. For most Neonite, these scales are turquoise and bright red, but other colors have been observed, including purple, pink, blue, green, orange, puce and yellow. Neonite's small fins appear to be attached to their body by way of a small screw, foretelling their Steel-type.

Etymology: Neonite is a combination of the words neon and nanite.
Gender Differences: None.
Special Abilities: Neonite's body emits bright neon light, but it is otherwise mundane.
Behavior: They live in warm tropical rivers, and are popular as pets because of their bright colors. By flashing their lights at once they can blind predators and safely escape. They are a travel-in-numbers kind of creature and are never, ever found by themselves in the wild. In truth, they tend to get a bit remorseful if they are kept by themselves and are prone to passing on from remorse when kept in captivity without some form of companion, Neonite or otherwise.
Habitat: Tropics, primarily in the rainforests of the equator. A fresh water, river fish, they typically travel in large schools, their bodies giving off brilliant neon patterns visible in the shallows.
Diet: Neonite are omnivores and will accept most flake foods, if sufficiently small, but should also have some small foods such as brine shrimp, daphnia, freeze-dried bloodworms, tubifex, which can be stuck to the side of an aquarium, and micropellet food to supplement their diets. A tropical sinking pellet is ideal, as most brands of these include natural color enhancers that bring out the color in their neon scales. Some frozen foods, including frozen blood worms, add variety to their diets.
