A large, chunky fish, Accelefin is blue and white in color. With a body as tall as it is long, Accelefin looks rather odd to most who are not familiar with it. Still, when evolving it has lost its pectoral fins that Speedish possessed, instead steering by using its white, powerful, fan-like tail. A small snout and a wide mouth allows it to scoop up its favored food, Protokrill, and doe-like eyes give it a cute appearance. Finally, small spotting and white dots assure that no two Accelefin look alike.

Etymology: Accelefin is a combination of the words acceleration and fin.

Gender Differences: None.

Special Abilities: Accelefin are some of the fastest fish in the sea and are known to swim at a speed of 120mph.

Behavior: Large and ambling when they are pleasantly drifting, Accelefin are by no means slow, they just prefer to drift in the open waters, basking in the sunlight by turning on their sides. Surface basking behavior, in which a Accelefin swims on its side, presenting its largest profile to the sun, may be a method of "thermally recharging" following dives into deeper, colder water. They swim primarily in open waters, but are sometimes seen near kelp beds, taking advantage of resident populations of smaller fish which remove ectoparasites from their skin. Friendly to humans and non-prey Pokémon, they often swim lethargically in circles around scuba divers.

Habitat: Accelefin are native to the temperate and tropical waters of every ocean in the world. Accelefin are most often found in water warmer than 10 °C (50 °F); prolonged periods spent in water at temperatures of 12 °C (54 °F) or lower can lead to disorientation and eventual death.

Diet: The diet of Accelefin, like Speedish, consists primarily of various jellyfish. It also consumes salps, squid, crustaceans, small fish, fish larvae, and eelgrass. This range of food items indicates that Accelefin feeds at many levels, from the surface to deep water, and occasionally down to the seafloor in some areas. The diet is nutritionally poor, forcing Accelefin, to consume a large amount of food to maintain its size.
