Squirlemn
Citrus Pokémon

Citrus Pokémon

Abilities: Pickup / Run Away / Harvest (Hidden Ability)
Height: 0.6m / 2'09"
Weight: 44.9kg / 97.0lbs
Gender Ratio: 50% Male ♂ / 50% Female ♀
Egg Groups: Field
Evolves From: Chilime (Level 20)
Evolves To: Eekquat (Level 34)
Pokédex Entry: A sturdier Pokémon than its younger form, it subsides almost entirely off of fruit its entire life. Squirlemn soak their claws in citrus in order to leave an extra sting when they attack.

Slightly larger than its pre-evolved form, Squirlemn retains the off-white coloration but shifts from green tones to yellow, as if it were ripening like the fruits it devours voraciously. The squirrel Pokémon now has a long, bushy tail with a bright yellow tip on the end, which it uses to balance as it fights. The symbol on its chest remains relatively unchanged, save from the color turning yellow. The fringe around its neck and at the tip of its elongated ears still proves to be green, perhaps retaining the color of a Chilime or perhaps evoking the imagery of leaves. Lastly, where Chilime was prone to using all fours to scurry about and could sometimes walk on its hind legs, Squirlemn is almost exclusively bipedal, using its hands the way a human might and fighting actively with them.

Etymology: Squirlemn is a combination of the words squirrel and lemon.
Gender Differences: None.
Special Abilities: Their claws have an acidic sting to them, provided to them by the citric acid that drips over them as they eat.
Behavior: Where Chilime were scurriers and fled at the sign of trouble or fought things off from a distance, Squirlemn are far more direct, patrolling the trees they live in and clawing foes into submission. They defend both their nests and the Chilime colonies with ease and it has grown into their psyche over long years of hunting and poaching to attack anyone who looks like they might be poaching on themselves or Chilime. They can often be seen practicing against one another. They look up to Eekquat, their evolved form, each Squirlemn usually choosing one Eekquat to follow under and observe from the treetops.
Habitat: Exclusively the tropics and exclusively in forests where citrus plants thrive. They are common sights in rainforests and small islands of the equator all across the world.
Diet: Frugivorous, dining explicitly on fruit and seeds of fruits. They favor citrus, especially limes and lemons, but will venture to any fruit available that they can find. Squirlemn will also add general vegetation to its diet to spur the growth of muscle and bones, such as fungi and buds and some insects.

Berry Forest, Sevii Archipelago ■ Jade Reaches, Orange Archipelago
