Pokédex Entry: Symbols of good luck and of grace, Xuilyn are rare and almost never approach humans. They spend their entire life in the cover of clouds and in the clear sky of the high atmosphere. A Xuilyn touching down on ground is almost unheard of, and if they do, it's because they are sick or dying.

Long bodies of red and black scales, Xuilyn are elegant creatures. Golden hair, smooth and soft as silk, rises off of their bodies in floating, fluttering waves from each of their legs. Their legs themselves are covered in a fine, downy-like fur. Whiskers, also gold in color, drop down from around their nostrils, like the whiskers of Chinese dragons of lore, and friendly, mysterious black eyes are set in their face. A Xuilyn's tail stretches out and ends with a fan of black fur-like plumes. Shiny Xuilyn are silver and teal in color, rather than red and gold.

Etymology: Xuilyn has no apparent etymology, but appears to imitate loanwords and spellings common to Chinese culture.
Gender Differences: Female Xuilyn have shorter horns.
Special Abilities: The silken hair rising from their bodies manipulates the friction of the air and atmosphere around them, allowing them to fly and to disperse clouds around them for cover.
Behavior: Long thought to be the origin of Chinese draconic mythology, Xuilyn are very rare Pokémon. As far as behavior go, Xuilyn avoid all contact with humans and Pokémon alike, even their own kind. It is believed they spend all their time airborne, for once they are old enough to fly they never seem to touch the ground. Xuilyn mate in bonded pairs for life. The bond they share is a soul-link, binding the two together since birth from across any distance and that drives them to find each other once a year. After mothers give birth, they rear young for three months, visiting the grounded child and hovering over them until they can fly. As soon as they can fly, the young stays with their parent for a year, after which time they are on their own and usually go to find their own life-mate and begin their own family.
Habitat: The skies above the far eastern regions of Asia, primarily China.
Diet: Unknown, but it is thought that they survive off of highly charged cloud particles commonly seen before thunderstorms. Other theories propose that they just do not eat.
