Pokédex Entry: A mysterious deep sea creature that is often mentioned in stories by seafarers of years past. When attacking they suction onto their prey and hold fast until it suffocates.
About the same size as an Octillery, Volkraken has a large mantle with forward set eyes. Red in color, it is covered in small blue dots that can light up in the dark. Volkraken has eight limbs, each equipped with multiple spire-like suckers that it uses to cling to their prey. On its forehead is a scary looking face marking that it uses to frighten off foes. It also has a couple appendages on its head, four in total, that look similar to bat wings or ears.
Etymology: Volkraken is a combination of the words volcano and kraken.
Gender Differences: None.
Special Abilities: The blue bulbs and bits of Volkraken's body can light up via bioluminescence.
Behavior: Solitary creatures, Volkraken remain in solitude most of their life, and only the most daring of Trainers ever manage to find one, given Volkraken's prefered habitat. They are fiercely territorial, only coming together to breed and even then only every two years. When captured, they tend to make voracious charges, requiring large amounts of food or lots of exercise by way of Pokémon combat.
Habitat: Occuring only when the strongest and oldest Volkritter mature, Volkraken leave the protective pods of squid they grew up in and venture into the depths of the ocean to feed off the mysterious life found at the bottom of the darkest sea.
Diet: Shellfish.
